Project Title: Conduit Bending Basics
Tools used in Development: Canva
Time in Development: 15 hours
My role: Instructional designer, developer
Context: This course is for relatively inexperienced electricians working in the field or for students in technical school. Materials include Presentation Slides, a Facilitator Guide, and a Participant Guide.
Challenge: Bending conduit is a skill electricians use on the job weekly, if not daily. Though expertise in the complexities comes with experience, there is a need for them to be able to understand the different types of bends, typical considerations, and be proficient at making the most common types of bends.
Solution: To address these learning goals, I developed an Instructor-Led Training because it is imperative for learners to be able to practice this skill hands-on with a facilitator to support. This solution also allows learners and facilitators to discuss various real-life scenarios and for learners to ask questions and get immediate feedback in a low-stakes environment.
Results: This course helps inexperienced electricians feel confident in the most pertinent information and commonly-used skills needed for conduit bending on the job.
